When you add equipment to your inventory, the first step is usually identifying the Product. Once the Product is selected, your items are created using the product’s information.
Product vs Item
Product
A make/model/variant of equipment.
Example: “Beal Access - 10.5mm 100m Orange”
Item
A physical piece of equipment you own, usually with its own serial number. Many items can share the same Product.
Example: “Petzl Vertex Vent – Serial #18C0123456”
You can only add one product type at a time using Multi-Add.
Add multiple items that have a 2D serial number (QR code or data matrix), then link to an NFC tag
Tap ‘Add Items’
Use the search bar to search for the product
Tap the product to select it
Tap ‘Add Multiple Items of this Product’
Tap ‘Scan’
Scan or type the Serial Number into the Serial Number box
The item will automatically add to your list and open the NFC reader
Hold the NFC tag against your phone’s NFC sweet spot
Continue steps 5-8 above until you have entered every item you wish to add
Close the Camera
Tap ‘Add to Inventory’
⚠️ If you leave the screen or close the app before tapping ‘Add items to inventory, your list will be cleared.
Add multiple items with serial only (No NFC)
Tap ‘Add Items’
Use the search bar to search for the product
Tap the product to select it
Tap ‘Add Multiple Items of this Product’
Tap the serial number box to type the serial number, or tap ‘Scan’ to use the camera to scan a 2D code
Tap Add to List
Continue until you have entered every item you wish to add
Tap ‘Add to Inventory’
If you leave the Multi-Add screen or close the app before tapping ‘Add items to inventory, your list will be cleared.
Add multiple items with NFC only (no serial)
Tap ‘Add Items’
Use the search bar to search for the product
Tap the product to select it
Tap ‘Add Multiple Items of this Product’
Tap ‘+ NFC’
Close the camera
Tap Add to List
Add multiple items by typing the serial then linking NFC
Tap ‘Add Items’
Use the search bar to search for the product
Tap the product to select it
Tap ‘Add Multiple Items of this Product’
Tap the serial number box to type the serial number
Tap ‘+NFC’
Hold the NFC tag against your phone’s NFC sweet spot
Continue until you have entered every item you wish to add
Tap ‘Add to Inventory’
If you need to edit a serial number, use the Trash icon to delete the row and re-enter the item with the amended details
Reviewing and editing items you have added during multi-add
After adding via multi-add, Scannable keeps a temporary list of recently added items.
Tap the list icon in the upper-right corner. This shows all items you have just added
Tap ‘Options’
Select the action you wish to perform and complete the action:
Inspect, Set inspections frequency, Update Information, Assign Team, Assign Labels, Move to Folder, Remove Inspection Frequency, or Remove Label
