Did you add the wrong product to your inventory? Change the SKU to change the item's name but keep its serial number and other information

You must use Scannable’s mobile app to update SKUs

Edit an item’s information with the mobile app

  1. Search for the item you want to edit

  2. Select the item and tap ‘Options’ > ‘Update Information’

  3. Tap ‘Change SKU’

  4. Use the camera to scan the data matrix code, QR code, or barcode of the item you are wanting to change to, or tap the search tab to search by name or part number

  5. Select the item you wish to update to

  6. Tap ‘Confirm SKU / Link Product’

What’s a SKU?

In inventory management, a Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) is the unique identifier or code used to identify a product.

A SKU helps to distinguish one product from another (these attributes can include manufacturer, description, material, size, colour, packaging, a difference in features, and warranty terms). These identifiers are not regulated or standardised.

In Scannable, we use ‘SKU Name’ as a term to refer to the product’s name when creating a product
